Iphone 6 text message app won't work.

I received a text that said the word "power" followed by a series of what appeared to be squiggly lines and than my phone went into the black screen with the white apple and than quickly turned backed to normal. I than copied and pasted the exact same text message and sent it to the person. After that, I haven't been able to access my text message app through my phone or mac. Has anyone experienced this weird message thats causing me distress? FWIW I have tried turning my phone off and a hard reset already and those have not worked.

I didn't Get that message but I've had problems with my 6 plus from time to time crashing
The keyboard on chrome keeps trying to hide when I type resulting in me accidentally clicking other links
When clicking "link" or "img " on right hand side, chrome and safari crashes
Random apps will crash
Had phone restart randomly a couple times
Very odd....I hope I don't have a bug but probably do unless it's a software glitch

It's because there is a bug that messes up the app if it tried to insert an ellipsis is non-Roman characters of great length.
I was told one solution may be going to photos and sending one to that same person. This allows you into the conversation, where you can delete that specific text.
Let me know if it works.
