Ipad Air I-tunes help

We bought my son an Ipad Air for christmas and have downloaded movies and shows for him to watch....except they keep going back to the cloud instead of downloading onto the Ipad.
We want them to download directly to the Ipad. How do we download them to the directly from I-tunes onto the Ipad and have them stay?

if you are downloading them from iTunes on the computer, you will need to sync the ipad with the itunes account.
Otherwise, download them from iTunes on the ipad itself and they should be on there.

A few questions:
1. How many Gigabytes is the iPad?
2. On the iPad, go to Settings>Videos. Is Show All Videos turned on?
3. What exactly is your process for downloading the videos?
