Looking for something inexpensive. I can put together a box with plenty of storage space, just need cameras/software.

Any recommendations?

And I know all you motherfrickers are rich, but seriously, I'm poor, so if it's pricey, don't bother.

ETA: I'm looking at these and I like Ubiquiti products, but even this seems a little bit expensive. I need at least 4 cameras. LINK

$130 would be a lot more manageable, I'm seeing them for $200/each.

Then don't buy cameras.

I see the Aircam stuff is about $270 for a 3-pack, but the new stuff that can see at night is $200/each.

I really like the ubiquiti line of products and have been looking at their cameras to install at my house. Does anyone know if you have to buy the network video recorder to access it remotely? I saw they hold SD cards but haven't looked to see if they have a web based management console like the waps do.

My neighbor put these at his house and they were easy to run. He had to buy the extended cables to reach the locations but I think they also powered the camera. One run for power and video.

LINK

I do like how the unifi cameras are easily scalable.

I'm about to order about 6 Ubiquiti UVC cameras. Does anyone have experience with them? How is the Airvision software? Are there any mobile apps to access the video feeds? Or browser only? Give me some details please.

Just started reading up more on these. The data sheet says the web console is viewable on iOS and android. Not sure if that's through an app or if the web console is mobile friendly. Seems like they wouldn't specify iOS and android if there wasn't an app. If you get these, post an update when you get them up and running.

On a side note, I just looked at their VoIP phones. They look pretty badass.

I have some experience with these. However, it was a while ago and before the NVR they have. When I used them, the recordings were saved as individual images, not video. But this may be different now. If they have not made any major changes to this line, I would stay away.

One of my coworkers has a few cameras that I can play with before I decide if I want to purchase them. I'll report back.
