In the market for a new laptop. Microsoft Surface Pro 3

I know it's marketed as a laptop and a tablet. I won't be playing any games on it outside of some apps. Mainly will use it for work and getting on the internet for YouTube and Social Media.
Have looked at several reviews and it seems like a great machine. Not sure if I should go ahead and buy one, wait until they announce the new Surface Pro if there will be one, or buy something else.

No official announcement yet, but latest rumors peg SP4 for July this year. I was itching to get a SP3, but think I might wait.

I think the Pro 3 has been a nice success story so I am sure there will be one BUT.... just like the phones, they are going to wait until Windows 10 is finalized before working on their flagship tech, so it might be fall before the Top Shelf goodies come out.

That's why I'm waiting. I want to see what they say about the SP4 before I pull the trigger on buying this. As much as I love my current/old laptop, a week after I bought it they announced the new version that I would have bought instead.

I have one that I use for school and all my personal stuff. Easily beats any piece of tech I've ever owned.

People keep making statements like this. Not sure I have ever seen a Microsoft product get the kind of reviews the 3 gets and most negative comments are borderline nitpicks.
I've even seen positive comments from Applites although still mostly negative from that group.
Makes me want to buy one of the damn things even though I don't need it and won't use it.

I would tell you to go play around with one but then you might buy it and you would definitely be kicking yourself for not waiting 4 more months.

I bought one for work yesterday. Going to a job in Tampa Sunday and dreaded bring my huge laptop. When I powered it up it crapped out. Our IT guy recommended the SP3.

Nothing that the SP3 can't handle. I meant I won't be playing games like Skyrim or Call of Duty.
