I'm not sure how I feel about lights under the eaves yet. It can look good but I feel like it can also be over done easily.

Design your master shower where a glass door is not needed. I did that on my current home, saved a ton of money on the door and saved even more time not having to clean the glass door

Heavy insulation in the walls and ceilings so I can rock my built in surround sound speakers. I bought an amazing system and then had a baby 1 year later. Needless to say I can only rock that shite during daylight hours now.

every time this discussion comes up, the first thing my wife mentions is the faucet above the stove for filling pots with water to boil...

literally top of her bucket list

I have USB outlets in several places and they charge all of my iDevices even with 2 pluged into one outlet. I LVOE the usb outlets. Idea I got from the OT when I was building.

I have some LED sofit lights and I love them too. Usually there us a recessed can with a R20 bulb tucked far inside the can. That makes for a narrow cone of light. The ones I have spread the light more...at night I need no outside lights and there isn't anyone going to sneak up. I get a lot of compliments on how it looks at night. They are 4" Halo surface LED lights with a 90CRI.

What i would really like is if I could change the color of those lights for the holidays. I could if I had the standard cans with some HUE bulbs or something like that.

Probably works great on a counter. But I think that if they are on the wall, they are probably going to be behind a piece of furniture, bed, nightstand, etc. Great if you have that 10' long Lightning cable and only need to charge an iPhone. Not so great if your constantly charging different devices with different plugs.

As an alternative, I have a dark power strip device with USB outlets mounted on a side piece of furniture in an inconspicuous place. Its perfect to charge any USB devices.

My point to the OP was don't just go putting USB outlets all over. Think about where they are, the devices they will charge, etc. Whatever works the best for you.

Def have to plan. I have one on each side of my island in the kitchen, one on either side of my stove in the kitchen, 2 at the mud bench counter, one on each night stand in my master with a 10' iphone cord, one next to the master toilet...becasue you cant run out of battery in the office, one at each office desk along the wall, one at my daughters night stand, spare bedroom nightstand and in the tv area upstairs. I only have apple stuff so just a hand full of lighting cords and im good to go.

A sitting area adjacent to the bedroom, separate closets and bathrooms. My wife is messy.

I could see putting one around the counter next to the bar area for charging during the day. Maybe some others in rooms where nightstands would be since we only charge out phones there.

A huge utility room.

Big enough for a freezer, washer, dryer, large pots, big sink, some shelves, ironing board, folding table, extra chairs, luggage storage...... Mine is 14'x7' and we love it but, I'd like for it to be about 2' wider.

That is THE place I charge my phone is on my night stand. Take a stable gun and put a staple on the back of the night stand loose enough to let the wire slide but not let the end connector fall through. That way all you do is grab it hanging out of site on the back...almost like a retractable cord.

Gas stove, gas waterheater, gas dryer, and run a gasline out to your patio for a bbq pit. You will never buy propane again.

I plan on doing this but will probably just wait until I run my coal/propane combo into the groun. It's only 2 years old right now. At that point I'll just have to figure out a method to smoke meats.

I put a primo grill in mine for smoking. But they have many different methods if that's all you need.

Another idea I had seen after building my house reguarding outlets is I have seen them under the cabinets (where lights mount) so out of view on kitchen backsplashs. Also putting outlets in the wood base molding vs on the wall for a real clean wall look.

Cat6 to each room
Closet with Meraki security appliance and Cisco 10Gb switch
USB ports in each outlet
Smart temp and light controls
Security cam hookups
Wireless AP for backyard shop

Probably more than just that, but that's where I would start

If gas home
Definitely get gas drop on back patio to hook BBQ pit or seafood burner to natural gas
