I will do this for a few seconds then wont charge even though its plugged in I have one charger that wont even charge even though its plugged in. Now this charger is starting to do the same thing

I have a 6

Should I just get a new charger?

Check to see if you have pocket lint in the lightning port. That'll do it every time.

I've had that phenomenon happen with cheap chargers or cords

I got a portable battery/charger from a vendor the other day and it would do this. I guess the little battery pack maybe didn't have the power I needed

Flip the charger the other way, as if it wasn't a reversible charger. Over the last month, I've noticed that my lightning chargers (Mfi certified and direct from Apple alike) usually favor being turned one way vs the other.

ETA: could also be the charger if it's underpowered.

I actually already do this... it def. favors one side over the other but it will still do it. I have to have the phone in wire in a certain spot for it to stay charging

All of my Lightning cables do this when the connection is coming loose. Time for a new one. I get about ~5-6 months out of one before it eventually goes bad. I buy Monoprice cables for their lifetime warranty and will RMA them once they start do this.

If manipulating the wire is helping, then it sounds like the inside of the cable is breaking/broken. I'd move on to a new cable.

I highly recommend these Anker cables. They are better than the apple ones.

If you're certain its not lint buildup it's a short in the cord.. If it does it on any other cords then there's something in your receptacle (even if you can't see it). The phonedoc store by me cleans out the charge port for free and so I'm sure others do as well.
