I had the M7. It was great. M8 is just the better version. Speakers in front are amazing and it runs smooth. Don't care about the aesthetics as I put a case on it anyway. I don't care what the internet says. I prefer plastic covers as metal bends easier and can have a removable backing.

Loved my M8. Subsequently swapped for Note 4. I love the Note 4 too and don't really regret it, but the M8 is probably the best overall phone I've ever owned.

Thanks everyone. Battery solid for you guys ?

Would love to be able to surf TD and text , lite twittering without worrying about battery melting away like my iphone is doing at the moment.

I did the same except M7 to Note 4. I like my Note 4 better but not by much. I wish it was only a tidbit smaller although I have gotten use to it. Would have gotten a Nexus 6 if it wasn't for the high initial cost and size.

Made the same choice, Note 4 over Nexus 6.

Wanted the Nexus 6, but already had a Nexus 9 and they were just so similar. Also, the Nexus 6 seemed large and plain (which it is), but it didn't feel that comfortable to use.

Got the Note 4 because the size is perfect IMO, thought I'd regret it because I hate Samsung. Ultimately though, Samsung is becoming less invasive so while I do miss HTC or better yet, stock android, it hasn't been too bothersome.

Mine has been fairly bad on my Note 4 since Lollipop. It was much better on KitKat or whatever was last. Hopefully the next update fixes it.

This what I am seeing reading reviews of the Galaxy s6 and its battery problems. Many people blaming the OS rather than the phone. Only thing I fear in getting a new phone now is that they will all have lollipop, including the older m8 which I think I would prefer have Kitkat.

Really enjoyed mine, but I can't imagine how sluggish it would be now, or in the near future with android updates that it wasn't designed to run

That is another worry, the new updates, but all the reviews of it just sound so great. Made it sound as if the Sense UI combined with the hardware had the HTC as mixture of iphone build with Smooth tame android software.

Have a hard time getting the S6 considering I mostly want a new phone because of battery being worn out in my current one. And because I want a new toy to mess around with.

If you're considering the s6, why not an M9

Reviews basically say that the M9 took a big step backwards from the M8. Battery issues, heating issues, etc.

Sure, I could buy a battery charging case, but it would be nice if these cocksuckers would just put a better battery in it to start with.

And you want to buy a phone that is more than a year old already? Don't do it.

Just get the S6 if you want a new phone immediately. If you can wait for some time, the OnePlus 2 will be out later this month and the Nexus 5 2015 with Android M will be out in a few months as well.

I enjoy mine. I also have the iPhone 6 and like it as much. The iPhone is more consistent yet I can do more things on my m8. I have rooted the HTC and added CyanogenMod12 on it.
The battery life on my iPhone 6 is better but my HTC still gets a solid day of heavy use in. However, the back cannot be opened so having a backup battery is not an option. Camera is just ok but I am not too big into taking pictures. I have gone through 3 m8's due to dropping them on concrete. Two were unprotected and one had a case on it.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

To Street Hawk - I don't follow the phone game much so I will look into those pending releases and see if it is worth the wait. Appreciate it.

To txbd - Thanks for the input. I think some of the other comments are right and are steering me away from the m8. It is a year old, and I didn't entertain that much at the start, but now is kind of weighing on me.

I looked at the S6 Active, supposedly the battery in it is a beast, something I would love. The phone also looks way better in person than the images seen on the internet. Plus the S6 is the hottest phone out right now. From the little playing around I did, I didn't like the G4.

the only downside to the s6 that I'm aware of is you can't replace the battery or sd card

Yeah that's correct. And the Active, which I am leaning more towards, doesn't come with anything except 16 gb I believe.

Edit: Scratch that, its 32 gb, non expandable.
