So i got another price increase from cox and its now 400/mo for tv/internet. enough is enough. i think im going to go with youtube tv and att fiber for internet.

i have 500mb to 5gig options in my area. how is it? is it reliable? one big problem with cable is its real finicky with weather in my area. what level would most recommend? Usually my wife watches tv and i may be on the cpu for internet/gaming.

going with 500mb fiber and youtube with some addons will still save me $200 a month.

I’ve never had it go out… pay about 167$ for 1gig speed plus my cell phone bill bundled together, comes with free HBO max. I also do youtubetv

I don’t know if that’s a good price or not tbh, but I deduct them from my taxes anyway… sure is better than what I paid to Cox assholes many years ago

Only time my AT&T fiber ever went out was the FOUR times the idiots building the house next door cut my feed

AT&T came out and fixed it within 24 - 48 hrs each time. Burying the new cable each time took about 2 weeks.

It’s bullet proof. You won’t regret it.

It’s great, have had it for a year and a half, never gone out and always right under a gig a second

Nothing but good things to say. So much more reliable than the Cable I've previously had.

Service is great.

Only negative is the absolute bureaucracy of the AT&T work system. I have 2 lines of service (home and business). Everything was great when I converted home over to fiber. I kept the business on U-verse (20 meg down) because I really didn't need a second fiber line. They forced an upgrade recently - said they were eliminating the old copper services.

Guys came and ran a line through the yard. They have a different team that buries the lines. So a couple of weeks later, they came and buried it - and cut the home line. I called and they came back and ran a new home line, and then 3 weeks later buried it - and cut the business!

I have repeated this process 9 times now and finally have 2 working lines of service - only because I got to see the same techs a couple of times and they finally noted in their system to talk to me before the bury crew came again and I was able to show them where the first line was.

Even one of the guys that came out told me "AT&T is very strange, sir - and I work for them!"

Just talk to the guy running the line and make sure he puts it somewhere that it won't get disturbed. "Burying it" is a misnomer - they run a trencher about an inch down and push it in, so it's very easy to cut it. They have no way to locate it it after its buried.

Go with 300/300Mbps instead of the 500. Save the $10/mo. The 300/300 will give you 370/370 actual throughput.

The service is fine as long as you aren't trying to run enterprise networks in your house. They have gateway limitations that can be frustrating for the enthusiasts but fine for average user.

At&t fiber is starting to see congestion in areas. So it isn't guaranteed to be perfect all the time.

Same, but in my situation, att ran the fiber directly over the water main, so anytime they set up a new house, fiber was cut

Where I am, createTV is a free OTA channel. You dont need any service to watch that channel.

This is my experience as well. Runs well above 300 and there is nothing I cant do at home with speed like that for $65 a month. Also, it has never been out in over a year and a half since I made the switch to ATT.

You can watch it in a web browser if you live near a city with PBS. Also Youtube.
