Does anyone know how to do this wirelessly? I have an amp with speakers outside and another amp with speakers inside my house. I'd like to be able to play music (using spotify) from my phone, laptop, or whatever, and have the audio play through both systems at the same time. So if I'm having a party and people go from inside to outside, the music is the same.

I've seen this done using airplay, but I don't have any airplay capable device. What's the cheapest and easiest way to do this wirelessly?

any of them have bluetooth? you could get some sort of bluetooth dongle. if the price of this is anywhere near a firestick or old appletv, i'd just get that.

if you have a firetv or firestick, you can download an app for airplay. also, if you have kodi/xbmc, you can enable airplay on that.

Something like this should work...

LINK

Not 100% sure if you can stream to 2 Bluetooth receivers at the same time. Never tried that.

So do I need to get an airport express for 1 or both of my amps? Is there any cheaper device that works well and is similar to airport express?

What is the best airplay app for the fire stick? I have seen a few for free/sale on amazon, but the reviews are mixed. Any suggestions?

The problem is that I need to use a source device that can have multiple audio outputs. I don't believe IOS allows multiple outputs, so if I used my iphone as an audio source and have it connected to one amp with a headphone jack, I wouldn't be able to mirror the audio through airplay on another amp...if that makes any sense. I know MAC OSX itunes can do multiple audio outputs over airplay, but I need to use spotify.

ETA: It looks like something like Airfoil is my best bet. It allows you to stream music from a PC or MAC to any IOS or Android device

like you said, there are quite a few that look very similar. i have the one called AirReciever, and it has an airplay icon with "AirPlay&UPnP" under it. i think it costs $2. it works alright. sometimes my phone or ipad won't find it, and i have to go to the app and open it and re-do the settings. lately i've just been using kodi for airplay as it's a bit more reliable.

I just went through this at FIL. Only iTunes in PC/Mac allow multiple airplay outputs. IOS does not. So he had to source everything from laptop instead of tablet. He used an airplay app on fire stick, but it was very hit or miss. Plus the three areas still were never in perfect sync.

I would just do multiple Sonos devices and you put them in party mode. Way more expensive, but works. Even the iTunes via Mac still had issues keeping all three airplay zones always working without a lot of keeping on top of it during the parties.

just realized you don't have to launch kodi to airplay to it. you can be on the amazon home screen and it'll work. this renders the hit or miss airplay apps obsolete.

Update:

I downloaded Airfoil and tested it out. It seems to work pretty good, but sometimes I have trouble getting it to work properly when I launch it. There will be no audio and I have to play around with the settings or restart it. But once it starts going, it works pretty well. What's great about it is that you can basically "airplay" from a PC / Mac to any device on any OS. You pick your source app to stream audio from on your PC/Mac (In my case, Spotify), then get all your devices connected and you can stream the music to all of them.
