A book release date is October 23 in UK but not until January in US for kindle and hardback. How do I get the book on kindle here in US before January?

Aren't there web sites that let you connect through a VPN to a network in another country and then access the web from there? To amazon it would appear that you were coming from somewhere in the UK. Since it's a kindle book you don't have to worry about shipping, although your account would be a U.S. account. It would be as if you were traveling in the UK and placing your order from there.

Or there are sites that you can obtain the book, and then load it to the kindle?

I do it with my nook all the time.

I get books all the time like that, but not for the kindle. The method is frowned upon though.

What type of file is needed for the kindle?

If you find somewhere to download the book, then you can email the file to your @kindle email address. I believe that it will open .pdf files.

Edit: Here is a link on how to do it.

1. Google.com
2. Search for "name of book" .mobi
3. download .mobi file
4. email to your user@kindle.com address
5. kindle will download in 2 seconds when on wifi
