I would like to wire my Macbook to display on my television, yet I'd like to be able to sit at a coffee table or something and use a separate keyboard and mouse. I know I need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable to display it on the TV, but past that I am clueless. How would I go about doing this? What would I need?

Thank you.

That's what I did on my Mac Mini. It has an HDMI output, so I just plug it into the spare HDMI cable I leave connected to the TV. I can sit on the couch with the keyboard and run it. It is awesome and will be all that you'll need, besides the adapter you mentioned to get it to HDMI.
