I added my new TP-Link Archer C5 router to my existing WOW Arris Modem/Router combo and I have been getting intermittent internet disconnections. I have done this in the past with other routers and seemed to have the same problem.

I believe WOW has disabled "Bridge Mode" option, so is there any other way to fix this?

I understand that messing with the DHCP settings is necessary but am getting conflicting instruction from any google search.

TIA

I believe you have to turn off DHCP on modem and turn bridge mode on (which usually turns DHCP off). Honestly, I would just go buy a new modem and get rid of that combo. I did that with my combo. I just went to Costco and picked up a Arris SB6141 for 70.

I think the SB6121 would do okay if your bandwidth is below 100 Mbps down.

The problem is that this hunk of junk is a whole home media gateway, not just for internet.

It controls all the cable boxes as well.
