Not really sure the hub is going to be pushed this holiday. My Home Depot never has any in stock and with a new company taking over, I don't see it going on sale. Hopefully I'm wrong though because I still need to get one.

I'm looking too, wondering if smartthings is the way to go with the turmoil at wink. I prefer wink over the rest but seems like hubs are hard to find. Amazon isn't even stocking any more only through 3rd party.

What's the "normal" price so I'll know if it's a good deal?

Not sure, I just started looking. However, CAD said this time last year they were running a deal where you got one for $0.99 with the purchase of 2 $15 wifi light bulbs. I was hoping to get that same, or similar, deal this year.

I bought it last year because cad was talking this shite up like it was a NASA milineal invention.

Waited on all the rooting hooplah to get sorted out and eventually lost interest and threw it in my office cabinet. Never even opened the damn thing.

Ill take it off your hands for $2.00. That's a $100% ROI over a year. You cant even find those returns on the money board. LOL.

Well damn. It's working great now. They took their time with the defects but I haven't had any issues in ages.

Yeah, I've decided to go with SmartThings 2.0. A ton of support/community has swayed me in that direction.

I'm researching this now. From the last 2 posts it appears that we are in the same boat. I look forward to reading about your experiences with home automation.

Should I use this thing? I don't really have anything but wireless thermos and chamberlin garadge door opener.

I just finished watching all of the videos on the SmartThings site. Pretty cool stuff. Most completely unnecessary, but of course now I want my bar to light up in purple and gold on game days

Its the simple things. Like turning on your garage/entry way lights when you get home or open your garage door.

I just finished a prototype that will alert me when my dogs water bowl is empty. Just need to 3D print a housing for it.
This was my test unit
