Hard Drive down -need new windows 8 disk

HP has not been much help and computer is out of warranty. I do not really need a laptop so I haven't been in much of a rush to get fixed. I am almost positive it has viruses on it. I figure i need a new hard drive but i do not have my windows disk to re-install it. What is best way to go about getting a new windows 8 disk?

Viruses don't cause hard drives to fail.

Why not check with Microsoft and see if you can download Windows 10 and activate it using your Windows 8 key.

Windows Media Creation Tool + USB Drive or DVD
If you were using Windows 8, you'll need to install windows 8, not 8.1. Your 8 key will not work on 8.1 if you didn't upgrade. Some info about that here.
Your windows key should be somewhere on the PC case if you bought an HP machine.
