That's a good deal but I would rather have my LG G4 that I got from Verizon for 99 bucks. It has a better rear and front facing camera, comes with 32 gigs of storage, accepts expandable storage/micro SD card and has a 3000 mAh battery that can be swapped out as needed. And yes, I got it through a 2 year contract with Verizon but we have had Verizon forever and have no plans to switch. LINK

Did you just compare an unlocked no subsidized carrier phone to a locked Verizon subsidized g4?

And to guedeaux, I have never bought a refurbished phone that didn't come in the original packaging and plastic protector still on the glass.

In other words they appear to be brand new.

Actually I did. But, hey as I said, it works for me because our family have been Verizon customers for many years and have no plans to switch.

If you signed a two year contract and still paid 99 you got ripped off. You just paid around 600+ plus for it.

Because you paid more monthly than if you'd bought the phone outright. Phone charge with subsidy is $40/month. Without contract, it's as low as $15/month (think it's 20 now).

So 24x(40-15)=600+99=699

You paid 699 dollars for that phone.

No, I did not. I did not choose the monthly payment option. I made a one time payment of $99 and our monthly payments actually decreased by about 50 bucks a month by moving from a unlimited data plan (that was about to increase by $20/mo.) to a limited data plan with unlimited calling and texting. Note that we were using less than 5 gigs of data per month since most of our usage is via wifi connection.

Now, yes I could have gotten the same phone on eBay for about 400 bucks and kept our unlimited data plan only to watch our bill increase by $20/mo. Given our minimal data usage, the choice was obvious. And FYI, our line access is now $20 per line/phone not the $40 you site in your calculation. So really the only downside is locking into a monthly contract which doesn't bother us since we have been Verizon customers forever and have no plans to switch.

Whatever...

I got a good deal on a nice phone that I'm happy with and our monthly Verizon bill decreased by $50. We probably tend to keep our phones longer than the average smartphone user; my previous phone was an old Samsung flip-phone. If I fill up the current 32 gig micro SD card that I added, I will just take it out and stick another one in; I can get them at NewEgg for 13 bucks. If the battery dies, I can replace the 3000 mAh battery for a lot less than buying a new phone.

Has anyone used that site before? Their reviews are terrible. From shipping defective product and not processing returns to not shipping anything at all.

just realized that I used that site a couple of years ago to get a refurbished Logitech remote. First, it took forever to ship and I actually had to contact customer service to ship the product. Next, the remote only worked for a couple of weeks before getting into a bootloop. They could not replace it, but they did give me a full refund.

So, definitely not buying a refurbished phone from them.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday.

It came USPS first class. Looked like the new box and had the plastic on all 6 sides.

Works like a charm.

The only thing you missed on is that you could have gotten it for free. They were doing up to $200 off for 2 yr upgrades, and the G4 is $199 right now.

For the record guys, she isn't wrong. I started another 2 year contract on Wednesday, only paid $40 for an upgrade fee. If I had switched to phone payments, even with the per line discounts that come with the edge plan, my bill would have gone up on a per month basis by a minimum of $2. Depending on which phone I got.
