looking to find some good headphones while on a budget. I would use them for music and gaming. Occasionally I would want to hook them up to my home theater receiver so I can watch movies while others in the house are asleep.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

To some, this is $20. To others, $300 or even more. Be a little more concrete with what you're willing to spend. Folks on here are pretty good at giving decent Recs without only looking at your max number. Also, What kind of music are you most into?

Lastly, if you want to do research yourself InnerFidelity and Head-Fi are two great resources.

I mostly listen to Rap and Rock. A little blue and Jazz.

$200 would be my limit.

I've had the Sony MDRV6 for years and really like them.

If you want to save a little money for some good headphones Buydig.com has a great deal on the Audio-Technica ATH-M30x's for $50. Which is the lowest price I've seen of those

Another vote for the Sony MDR line. My V6 has held up for years. I have three pair now, and son has swiped one. They're VERY light on the head, and you can wear them for hours! The only thing that wears out on them are the vinyl earcups, and you can buy a bagful of replacements on the Internet for $10. They're $100 new, but I find them (and buy them) all the time on Ebay for about $60.

Yep, I've had 2 of these. Great sound. My first pair bit the dust after using them as workout headphones for 3-4 years (now use blutooth for this purpose), but I later ended up finding a "refurb" pair of the v6's at a Sony store for ~$20.

I bought a pair of 50$ Sony's. They are good, the only thing I miss is a volume control on the head phones itself.
