Galaxy S7 Active

I think im going to get rid of my iphone 6 and spring for a galaxy S7 active. Anything i should look out for before making the switch?
Im not into having the latest and greatest tech phones. I just need to play music, internet, a few apps and call/text and to not break. I'm tired of my iphone glass breaking and battery draining in 12 hours. Im rough on phones even in cases so the active seems like a good fit for me (fishing, hunting and lots of outdoor activities). In addition to the rugged features, the iphone specs dont seem to come close to the galaxy (screen res, battery life, camera, processor and expandable memory). Only iphone feature ill miss is Imessaging when offshore with only wifi signals available. Hopefully droid has an app for that

The phone has everything you are looking for.The 4000 mah battery, the durability/build quality are top notch. Pull the trigger and dont look back.

You could use Facebook messenger if you both have Facebook. I use group me for group conversations that aren't all iOS.

you can do that in Google Hangouts I believe
and on Sprint at least, you can do that with Textra

I don't have Facebook but in a brief search I have seen a few apps that may work
