Ford Sync issues

Ok guys, this is my first post in here, so sorry if this has already been covered.
I have been having more and more trouble with my Ford Sync system, especially in terms of linking to my iPhone6. It will not recognize that I am making a call, but the phone shows Sync as an option for audio.
Has anyone else had problems with the Sync? Did Ford fix it? How?

I never had a problem with calling. I had problems with it recognizing it as a bluetooth media player. I just deleted the phone and redid it.

I've had minor issues but nothing ongoing
Nothing like you mentioned
I also have an iPhone 6+ and haven't noticed any problems I could attribute to that phone.
Sometimes there is some lag but that's the main issue.

every issue I've had was the fault of SYNC. Whether it be not being able to find a bluetooth device or simply not even giving me the option to use SYNC. What I mean by not giving me the option is when I scroll through my media options (AM, FM, XM, CD, SYNC) it will skip right over SYNC. I'll hit the voice activation button and nothing happens. I'll hit the phone button and nothing happens. Usually have to turn the truck off and open the door for ~30 seconds to get it to reset and more often than not I have to do this 2-3x.

Did you upgrade the sync software? Also under the Bluetooth sync settings be sure to enable "show notification" on the iPhone settings.

Is anybody having problems with MyFord Touch doing system maintenance an increasing amount of times? It seems like it won't cut on for a few minutes then it does and says it is doing a system maintenance.

Yes, it is up to date...painstakingly.

I have no idea what you're talking about. On my iPhone when I go to Settings>Bluetooth "show notification" is not an option.

a. Sync is a giant turd. I have a F150 and sync is the fricking bane of my day.
b. I have had all kinds of issues with Sync over the last 3 years.
c. Ford hasn't fixed shite and I had them update it somewhere along the line.
d. I say this because I also have a Grand Cherokee and the uConnect is fricking bullet proof. Mine is a littel dated and can't bluetooth music but I can get out, run a lap and uConnect will reconnect every single time without issues. My sync, if I leave range of the bluetooth, I have to either spend 2 or 3 minutes trying to reconnect manually or just turn off the truck and crank it back up.

Thanks for that tidbit. I've been looking at SUVs and no one has good things to say about the Ford systems but I hadn't seen that much on the Jeep one.

You have to unplug ipods and things of that nature before you start the truck to get rid of this

I can't even get mine to connect for the vehicle report. Says I'm not registered to go online and registered. Did that and it still says it doesn't see that my truck is registered. Also aggravating to plug up phone to charge via USB, turn on the bluetooth radio, and then randomly it connects back to the USB and starts playing the one song I have on my phone.

I turned on the "show notification" what will that do?
I haven't updated my Sync software. How do I do it?
Please speak plainly, I'm not the best with this stuff.

I've never plugged anything into the SYNC USB port.

Ford Sync is so bad they fired Microsoft and switched to another operating system for 2016 models.
Ford launched MyFord Touch, the second generation of its Sync tech, in August 2010. A year later, Ford's position in the JD Power & Associates Initial Quality Survey had plummeted from 5th place to 23rd, attributed mainly to the perceived poor quality of the automaker's in-car systems.

I know, Blackberry was hired to replace Microsoft. QNX will now be the underlying OS for SYNC.
