Firestick v. Chromecast

I have a slow and inconsistent DSL. All things being equal, for watching live TV (LSU baseball) is there an advantage in casting from my ipad using chromecast or using the watchEspn app on firestick?
thanks. tired of the buffering. I have both.

well they are both native apps written for those platforms so they might behave differently.
your iphone/ipad/android is irrelvant in this scenario since its just kicking off the app on the chromecast or firestick with the correct content ID to play.
i'd say try both and see if one works better than the other.

thanks. the inconsistency of the picture I get made me doubt I could make an accurate real time comparison, so I was wondering if there was an inherent speed advantage in one over the other. the pic will go from very good to looking like I'm watching through water to loss of sound to buffering in a span of minutes. DSL capacity in our neighborhood is absolutely full.
