I have personal phone, 12pro max and a work phone that is an iPhone 14. I hold the account on my personal phone and my employer owns the account on the work phone. I pay the bill on mine and employer pays for the work phone.

Could I convert my personal phone to an eSim and add it to the work device. Without screwing up who is paying what bill?

I am tried of carrying two phones but also don’t want to give up a number I’ve had for 25yrs.

Your employer will likely not allow it. But in any case why would you want your personal SIM on a device that could be confiscated by your employer at any time?

I may be wrong, but I think only one SIM can be active at a time. Recently a work phone that had both an eSIM and a physical SIM stopped working. Had to remove the physical SIM so vendor could configure/use the eSIM.

Your company's IT department probably has it blocked. Mine does.

Port your personal number to google voice and have your calls forwarded to you work phone. The only issue with this is texting, the google voice app is terrible to use for texting with the old number. I previously had this setup and eventually had everyone texting my work number. I’m now back to two phones and forward my work phone calls to my personal phone on the weekend so I didn’t have to carry two phones on the weekends.
