Educated Guesses on Google I/O's headlining acts later this month...

Interesting article that touches on what to expect from the Googlers later this month.
I went searching for an update on Project Ara. This thing has taken a fairly long time to get out of the labs and into the light of day. To me it smells of Google realizing they may have a really big deal on their hands (which I think they're right about). What seems like a drawn out process may have either been to roll it out with their own wireless service or to simply make sure they're getting it right.
This is only part of the article though. Interesting stuff on V/R, Android, wearable Tech and Ara as well...

I'm interested to see what the M release will offer, but I am not hopeful for a landscape changing release. I think Android has reached a level of maturity where the wow factor of a new Android release is no more.

I go back to Ara. Really, really interested to see how they price everything and how it works. It seems like wireless tech is a bit of a moving target. If they can truly compartmentalize the important parts of a phone, updating may be fairly simple and really change the game in terms of handset tech.

I think the biggest key to Ara is how to manage the drivers for the hardware during updates. Hopefully this will be successful and the major manufacturers can get a better idea of what people truly want when it comes to phone specs.
