I have an Echo and two Echo dots. I am also interested in the Google Home after just purchasing a Pixel XL.

I'm waiting for bbap to tell me how well it works.

I've got an echo. It makes me smile every time I tell it to turn on the lamps.

I haven't scratched the surface of the Dot yet. But it's alarm, timer, music streaming, weather, news and traffic updates are outstanding. I need to get better at figuring out how to ask it to lower volume properly because that one is tricky. But it's been a great $50 investment.

Will do. I fully expect it to be a bit buggy at first.

Probably, but my android phone is more intuitive with my smart stuff than Alexa. I should be able to do everything on the dot I can on my phone but it takes some leg work.

Definitely

So my device finally came in today. Tested all of my lights as well as casting music to my outdoor speakers. Everything worked just as it should for me.

My SmartThings lights and thermostat linked fine but my schlage lock was not available. I assume this simply is not an option just yet. Hopefully won't be much longer until this functionality is available. Along with reminders and calendar events.

All in all my first impressions are extremely positive though.

FYI - Really enjoying my Echo Dot arming and disarming my Blink Home Security Monitor using voice at my house or away from home using the Alexa App, changing the arming schedules, telling me how many motion notifications I have, and how many clips I have ready to view.

Took about 90 seconds to set them up together.

Also streams Outlaw Country and 104.5 to my BT Shower Speaker and other BT enabled speakers around my house.

Set me back $49.
