No. I leave mine plugged in all the time.
It's a horrific POS, but for unrelated issues.

It'll shorten the battery life over time.
Can't even really unplug out laptop anymore.

It does not shorten the battery life.

If you have an old NiCad battery with an outdated charging circuit, yes.
For anyone with a LIon Or NiMh battery on a modern laptop (every Lenovo should fall into this category), no.

Anything to support this?

from batteryuniversity.com:

The question is asked, “Should I disconnect my laptop from the power grid when not in use?” Under normal circumstances this should not be necessary because charging stops when the Li-ion battery is full. A topping charge is only applied when the battery voltage drops to a certain level. Most users do not remove the AC power, and this practice is safe.
Modern laptops run cooler than older models and reported fires are fewer. Always keep the airflow unobstructed when running electric devices with air-cooling on a bed or pillow. A cool laptop extends battery life and safeguards the internal components. Energy Cells, which most consumer products have, should be charged at 1C or less. Avoid so-called ultra-fast chargers that claim to fully charge Li-ion in less than one hour.

Various sites Ive been to, no definitive source to point to.
Heat is the primary killer of laptop batteries but most of the batteries will have greatly diminished capacity in 3-4 years post manufacture regardless of how you handle the charger situation. It is not a bad idea to remove the battery when leaving the computer plugged in and on for long periods of time, t minimize the heat exposure.
In my original response, I misspoke about one thing, NiMH batteries can be adversely affected by the lack of cycling. A large driver behind the concept that always leaving your laptop plugged in is bad derives from the fact that the nickel based batteries tended to form a "memory" unless deep cycled periodically. This would severely cripple the available run time of a battery.

Is it actually bad for the Battery of a Laptop to leave it plugged in?

Cool, I couldnt really find anything other than heat like you are saying.
Just trying to get up to speed again.

I'm not sure why it happened, but it's the same with mine, you can't unplug or it'll immediately die. I have my own and my wife uses it, so I'm in no rush to try to fix it.
