Anyone know?
I pay for the 100 download speed, but Hulu always buffers. Doesn't matter the device or if it's WiFi or an ethernet connection. I'm trying to figure out if it's their router they provided or if they're throttling.

as far as I know, they do not throttle anything. Connect your laptop directly to the Eatel ethernet jack with a CAT6 cable.

run a speedtest from speedtest.net

If you are not getting the speeds you pay for, call them. I pay for 50Mb/S. When I ran the test, I found I was only getting 25. I called them and they had to "upgrade a card" in the box on my house to support the higher speeds.

Last night while hulu was buffering, I ran a speed test and was getting in excess of 80 on the same wireless. My YouTube seems to buffer as well. No other devices were running at that time. I'm stumped.

Mine was buffering on movie trailers from my Apple TV the other night. It has never done that before. Maybe eatel is having issues. I did a speed test and it was good.

I've heard a lot of grumblings about the quality of EATEL's service lately. We've had problems with our router for months now and their only solution was to use the 5G because of less interference.

I'm thinking of dropping the TV service just to get rid of the light wave router. Would I need to buy some type of modem?

You don't need a modem with Eatel, only reason you have box is for Lightwave. No Lightwave no router/box needed.

Now if you dont have your own router then you would need that.

That 2Wire router that Eatel uses was a source of frustration for me. I made the switch to Direct for TV over a year ago. I think Costco is giving a $200 card away if you sign-up there. More channels, 1080 etc. Half off your bill. All the movies free for 6 months and Sunday Ticket. It adds up to some pretty big savings. I think we figured almost a grand over two years. After 6 months they'll give you a deal to keep the movies if you call in. I had to give back all the Eatel equipment. So I bought an AC router and my 5GHz channel is pulling down 100Mbs. All my buffering and router problems are gone.

Eatel does not throttle anything at all. Hulu could be having trouble, or the route through the internet to Hulus streaming servers could have a congested chokepoint. I recommend running trace routes to potentially find where the problem lies.
