Does anyone here work for verizon?

I have a very specific question since Verizon is my carrier
I want to buy my son a new Iphone 6s for Christmas in one of these black Friday deals. Is it possible to buy the phone, activate it, then de-activate it so his old phone works and then on Christmas, reactivate it?
I really want this to be a surprise since this is all he wants for Christmas. I don't want to have to give it to him tomorrow.

I think you can do it online with serial number and isbn

You can buy it, and just wait to activate it no problem.

Yeah you can activate it without being at the store. I believe over the phone or online, either way you're covered.
