Do recepticals with usb ports work with iPhone and ipad?

Looking to get some and wanted to make sure my iPhone will work with them. After all everyone knows Apples don't work and play well with others.

Yes, they generally have more amperage than a standard phone charger so that they're universally compatible with phones and tablets. Check the amperage rating on the one you buy. Some only have a couple of amps, others have more. A 2-amp, 5v charger with 2 USB ports (sharing the 2 amps) on the receptacle would manage a couple of iPhones. I believe in the case of iPhone 6/6+, it can charge faster with a higher-amperage charger, to a certain extent that doesn't risk damaging the battery.
