Come Monday I'm ditching my iPhone for a BlackBerry Classic (Verizon). Can't wait for a physical keyboard again...

I use my phone nearly 100% for work. Don't play any games, and can live without social media. All I need app-wise is a good browser for TD.com and xhamster.

PurpleHaze, didn't you do a thread on the Claasic? Can't find it via search.

I got my mom one for her birthday a while back, and she has enjoyed it. The only problems she has had is sometimes they roll out updates that eat up the battery. They generally fix that within a week though

Really. That's a pro I've liked hearing: the battery life.

I hate having to charge my iPhone twice a day

It has only happened two or three times since I guess February or March when they released the phone. BB/Verizon corrects it pretty quickly though. She complained about it last week, and didn't say anything about it this week, so I am guessing they fixed it

It may take a little while to get use to the screen size. I used a Q10 for a while and really enjoyed it. In fact I'm using my Q10 today around campus instead of the Passport. You'll love the Hub and the productivity of BB10. The only downside is the future support of BB10 is kind of in the air right now since the announcement of BlackBerry going Android with the Priv.

Make sure to familiarize yourself with the keyboard shortcuts. It will make navigating the phone very easy. You'll start to realize how long simple tasks were taking you on the iPhone. Here is a cheatsheet. LINK

Welcome to the darkside.

Passport. Download crackberry app. Forums will be your best friend. I'll post a link to Cobalt's thread that tells you how to install Google play services

I have had touchscreen phones for a long time, but prefer physical keyboards still. My only problem is having a smaller screen sucks

Classic is awesome. And if you do heavy email can't be beat. New design and software works

Any questions or problems, post here. We will try to solve them.

For battery:

Open locations, turn off data collection.
Under security and privacy, turn off diagnostic collection. Those just send data back to BlackBerry and run down battery.

You can also customize hub. I'd remove my phone calls from it if I were you.

Not really, we just value different things in a smartphone.

I have had BB since day one. My BB torch died about 6 months ago. I went in (AT&T ) and I tried every phone that was there. After trying the others, that I didn't like, I got the BB classic. I really like having a physical keyboard or I got so use of having one. The Hub is great. Learn the shortcuts.
