When I try to watch a movie on demand it will not load for instance I just tried to watch East Bound and down and got the following message (eastbound &a down failed. The receiver will try again later. (Error code:5)
I hooked to my box with a Ethernet cable and made sure it was connected to the internet. I did a speed test and got Upload 28.9 Mbps download 5.06 mbps so my internet shouldn't be the issue.
I called directv and got someone who had no clue what I was trying to say. Any tips?

I recently switched to directv and am experiencing the same issue. I looked it up online and many others are as well, and there is no fix.
My understanding is that all directv on demand content is accessed through your internet connection, and not satellite. During "peak" hours, their servers get backed up, and the data doesn't stream fast enough. There's no problem with your speed, it's an issue on the DTV side relating to their bandwidth.
On all the internet troubleshooting forums I browsed through, everyone reported that calling DTV is useless and they will try a bunch of things that won't fix the problem, as there really is no solution.

Yeah I called them yesterday and first thing they wanted me to do was reset the receiver I had already did that a few days before and knew if I did it then they would tell me I have to wait 24 hours for the On Demand to be available and just get me off the phone. So we tried a few things such as speed test and disconnected and reconnected from internet still nothing. Gonna call today anyway because my bill went from $150 to $235 and there's no reason why it should nothing changed didn't upgrade internet didn't change programming didn't lose any promotions.
