I believe switching channels(swiping left or right) will clear the error message as well

Got my fire stick today. Really pleased with Directv Now so far. Can use the Nick, Disney Junior, and Disney XD apps, so my kids are very happy. Couldn't use any of those with Sling. Can also use HBO GO with the $5 HBO addon, so...that's awesome. All of my on demand concerns have been relieved.

You sure about nick? They must've added it recently if so.

Just checked the Nick Jr and Nick apps on my iPhone...still no DirecTV Now login option.

On the guide, select the network logo, e.g. TBS. The programming will pop up, just scroll up to previously aired shows that are available for replay.

Ok so yesterday was the first day I had some time to mess with the Apple TV and DiercTV now. I am blown away has polished this is. With the remote you can swipe from left to right or vice vera to change to the next channel and its smooth and the picture is mostly immediate. The guide is pretty good even though I wish I had a button for more info on a show in the guide.

One thing cable has over this to this point is their on demand. Cox has a pretty good selection of past shows. They are supposed to fill the gap on this.

This is a cable killer in my opinion, at $35 but not at $60

I have a good deal with Cox though end of February so I can take my/ time on this but I plan to drop Cox and get a Tablo for locals.

This is really my only complaint. I wish it would say more than just college basketball on the menu. At least give me the teams playing.

As I know little about this stuff, is the idea to get a Direct TV subscription through PC and then use a firestick to put it on the TV?
Also, what do you use for recording shows?

Same here. So far this has been my only complaint.

It feels better...

I know that's a poor answer, but I'm not sure I can point out a ton of things that I necessarily notice. I'll try to name a few things though. I switched from vue to DTV about a week ago. I haven't buffered once. The service feels much smoother. Accessing and using the guide feels better. If this was a tangible item I'd say it feels less cheap. The introductory deal is what makes it a really good deal too though. More channels for the same price as vue, and if you can afford to cough up 3 months worth up front you get a free appletv. That's what roped me in, the quality of the service has kept me here.

I like the service, but you have to be the only person in the world who has not had buffering/errors.

Yea I know I feel really fortunate . I used to buffer all the time on vue.

I haven't had buffer "issues" with PS Vue, I'd rate it as 99.5% reliable.

Also Vue has 1 local channel and I'm assuming trying to get more, does Directv have those?

how long does the introductory price last? Ok seeing $75/month packages tossed around compared to my $35?

Locals to come. They may have them for some markets already, I'm not sure about this.

I think you can get in on the introductory rate until end of year and once you have it you're grandfathered in and won't receive a price increase.
