Direct Tv at a camp

I have direct tv at my home but also want it at my parent's camp. However, they don't really want to pay for a subscription. I was wondering if we could just piggy back off of my account and I pay for an extra receiver. TIA.

I have an extra dish that I tailgate with. I just bring my box from home and get it oriented. It sets up on a tripod.
I guess you could technically acquire one, cement it to the ground and run some cable inside, you would just have to bring your box to the camp when you go.
That's probably a gray area on theft IMO. For couple nights out of the year when I tailgate it's not a big deal for me.

We used to use our second receiver but now Directv does the Genie thing. When the guy was installing our satellite at the new house I mentioned that we used to use our second receiver at our beach house. He said to do that I need to request a specific box....something an HD24 box or something. He said it would work on its own without the main box and it would only add $10 per month to my bill. The only caveat is that unless my other dish was an HD dish, I would only get standard definition channels. Whether or not it is legal, I have no clue. We just stream everything now. $50 for Internet and use Netflix or the directv app to keep the kids happy. For football games while we are at the beach house we just go to a restaurant and watch it if we can't catch it on tv.

I bought a HD dish from ebay & installed it myself. Took a bedroom receiver that we never used and leave it at the camp 24/7/365 and has been working 5-6 years and it's only $6.00 a month for the receiver.

Was the receiver already setup?

Yeah the receiver was already active on my home account. Call directv and have them install or send you a receiver for you home. After it's set up move the receiver to your camp.
