Deleting pre-loaded photos from an iPad Mini

I was gifted an iPad Mini from a vendor and it came pre-loaded with a ton of product manuals and photos from his company. Was very useful when ordering from him but we are now in a new product year and the info is outdated.
I want to remove the items to free up the space so I can use the device for personal stuff.
I can delete the manuals but the photos won't delete. Researching online leads me to believe that (maybe) this is because they loaded them via iCloud? I don't even get a trash can icon when I click on the photos and I can't delete the album they are in either.
Is there a way to get them off the device without reaching out to the vendor and having him do it via iCloud? I now have my email and other items on the device and really don't want to let him log into the device since I have other vendor info on it at this point.
TIA

Hook it up to a computer. I had a similar issue when I loaded a bunch of photos from my old phone to my new phone a few years ago. It didn't give me an option to delete from the device, but you can hook it up to iTunes and get them off of there.

Welcome. I was mainly doing it to my wife's phone and she wanted all her old pictures, so I just did that with hers and tried it with mine as well while loading the backup from the old phones to the new ones. That's when I realized I could delete camera roll pics but it loaded the old ones in an album and the only way to delete them was to lose the album while connected to iTunes.

I would do a complete reset/wipe of it.
Go to settings---General---all the way down to reset, choose reset all content and settings.
