we just switched and ill tell you the deal we got.

U Verse 450 with every sports channel almost and movie channel (HD) 3 boxes
highest internet
phone with unlim long dist

$300 Reward Visa Card
$100 bill credit for having at&t wireless

First bill 116.00
Second Bill and every successive 167.00 and that's for 24 months

Now it took some back and forth to get it all right but they were very helpful as all the things I was promised were noted in my file (make sure they do this so they can't change it on you). We just got our first bill and it was incorrect. I called them up and in a matter of about 15 minutes I had everything fixed and my account credited to the exact amount I was promised. Very happy with the switch as my cox bill had ballooned to 280.00 with 3 boxes, phone, and shite internet (constantly went out).

AT&T said they have the quickest internet service in the BR area because nobody is jumping on and off the network? Said they don't have the slow downs that cox ha

They are full of shite. Im in the industry. Uverse is DSL and it blows. Very jittery and has really high latency. Uverse cable is awesome. Get Uverse for tv, and Cox for internet.

I've had cox, at&t, and comcast.
For TV it's easily AT&T > Cox > Comcast. Like att because of their layout, on demand options, multiple boxes all sharing 1 dvr, can record more than 2 shows at once, etc.

Internet have all been pretty decent for me, although I'm not b online gamer nor do I have 3 or 4 tablets or laptops running off it.

And AT&T is cheaper

I'd pick AT&T if I had the option

I cut off everything AT&T - cell phone, house phone +internet, office phone & internet. I really hate YP, the phone book company.

Replaced everything with Cox or Verizon

I don't care about costs

Yep. At best, the sales people are basing that claim on outdated information. Yes, your ADSL/VDSL is a dedicated line vs. shared bandwidth on a node, but cox provides adequate bandwidth on the node. Back in the days of DOCsis 2.0 modems and older, you could only use one upstream and downstream channel at a time, so if the channels are overloaded during peak hours, you were screwed. DOCSIS 3.0 uses channel bonding, which allows multiple downstream channels to be combined into one "pipe."

In densely populated areas where the ISP has been slow/stingy with adjusting infrastructure to account for more subscribers, there are times that all channels can slow down to an excruciating crawl during peak times. Cox provides 8 downstream channels, and even during peak hours it can push what little amount of bandwidth is available through all 8 channels. So even if every channel is slow because of a congested node, the data streams can be combined. Docsis 3.0 modems support 4-8 downstream channels, at roughly 40mbps per channel. It would have to be an especially shitty and overloaded node not to get nearly all of your subscribed bandwidth at all times.

Choosing between cox and AT&T is like choosing to vote for Obama or Romney. Both are terrible, but, which one is the lesser of two evils?!?

Good point.

Also, I was joking. It was a stupid arse analogy.

I've always had better service and more reliable service with AT&T. That's just my personal observation though.

I have to agree with it. Overall, I'm currently happy with Uverse (not by much but it's working now). However, it's not more stable than any coaxial service I've ever had.

I would go back to comcast if they were available in my area, just because the internet was rock solid.
