I am interesting in the all in one computers. Not wanting to break the bank. I don't do any gaming or get crazy with music. Just want something simple, with a nice sized touch screen.

advice on these 2. A dell Inspiron 23.8LINK

or a HP Pavilion 21.5 LINK

Both suck in different ways. The Dell has the crap CPU, and the HP has less RAM than would be desirable. Those mobile A4s/A6s/A8s are just bad. To imagine that in a desktop environment for $650+ just for a touch screen... I really hate all-in-ones; I guess here's the obligatory "don't get an all-in-one."

If you insist, go for the HP, because the RAM is upgradable, and an extra 4GB module is only like $25.

I am not committed to anything specific, just like the all in ones. Why do you not like the all in ones?

All in ones suck. They are always under powered and over priced. Also, if anything goes out you have to replace the whole thing.

Get a desktop with a nice monitor or a laptop.

Essentially, an all-in-one is a laptop with a bigger screen and no battery. The hardware limitations of a laptop with barely any of the benefits. But it does have the touch screen going for it. I've yet to understand the ergonomics of a touch screen in a setup where the mouse and keyboard are technically closer to your hands, so that feature means nothing to me. If you do have a use for a fixed touch screen, then as I said, get the HP and upgrade the RAM if you end up needing to.

This is a fair statement.

Just get a monitor and strap a mini machine to it. Like an m92 or something. So much better and if anything ever goes wrong with it so much easier to get in and troubleshoot.
