Google has agreed to purge billions of records containing personal information collected from more than 136 million people in the U.S. surfing the internet through its Chrome web browser.

The massive housecleaning comes as part of a settlement in a lawsuit accusing the search giant of illegal surveillance.

I know you're probably being sarcastic, but for the people that don't know - Assume that everything you post on the internet will come back to be used against you one day.

The people I know that use it are not as worried about what’s being posted, but what’s in their search history

Oh, who saw this coming with Google products? Anyone? Not to try to call anyone a fricking idiot, but the signs have been there for decades.

Something I appreciate about Pornhub is that when I have a Brave inPrivate Window, as long as I don't close that instance, it knows what I'm looking for if I hit the homepage. When the app updates and restarts, it forgets, but I can quickly rebuild the right kind of fun.

Chrome might not track what you do on the web in incognito mode, but guess what, Windows still does. And it keeps EVERYTHING.

i mean, they found that guy who ran silk road on the dark web years ago without too much trouble despite all the crazy steps he took to hide his identity and access location.

just give up. privacy is an outdated concept. its sickening the amount of information our government and tech companies are stockpiling on us.
