I'm at an impasse on what to do with my internet because for the last week or so, it's been subpar to say the least. I'm with Cox and am supposed to be getting the 300 mbps package (I know I'm sure as hell not getting that much right now). A few weeks ago, it was perfect but I'd say for the last 10-14 days, it's been unbearable at times. Any advice or recommendations?

Fresh restart won't hurt.

Anecdotally I would say yes. Many times when there are no other causes found for slow speeds at my customers houses, i.e. bad vrad port, bad cable pair, faulty connections, voltage, etc., a simple reboot will fix the issue. Sometimes I will do a factory reset just in case. I googled it a while back just to see if it really was beneficial or if I was just wasting time. Turns out it does help according to the post by Reddit user d-lew, it's the second reply at that link.

There are many other pages with similar info. In short it is absolutely beneficial to do a reset.

I have cox 300 mbps also, make sure you are connected to the 5G if you have it. It has less range but i am getting over 300 mbps.

How do I make sure I'm connected to the 5g? Sorry, not that tech savvy yet, lol.
