Agreed I didn't want any kind of LED that I was stuck with with special bases. My sofit lights outside are because some cans would not fit because of the roofline. But I'm glad it worked out like that because the ones they used are awesome. Halo wave light 4" discs....they light up the outside so nice.

those tw cree bulbs dim very nicely.

the only 'regular' dimmable LED i put in cans was for the 6" eyeball cans i replaced.

in those, i simply bought new HALO 6" eyeballs and put in regular LED flood bulbs like vetteguy.
