If you can find some Staples coupons, you could get a nice deal on one. We had a $30 off $60+ purchase and got a WD 1TB drive for $43 out the door.

Target was actually having a deal on WD 500-2TB externals last week. I don't know if they are still on sale.

I bought 2 1tb usb3 external hds from staples a couple weeks back for $35 or so.
I'd shoot for sub $40 for sure.
