I'm sure it's been discussed several times, but what's the best device for streaming movies, TV shows? Just signed up with Amazon Prime and have a friend that will give me his Netflix info.

Is one any better than the others?

TIA

As a chrome cast owner I would recommend the fire stick or the latest Roku. I'm not particularly disappointed with the chromecast but one thing I didn't consider was that it basically hinders using your phone while it's running (apps that cast in the background seem to crash frequently at least on my phone) and i would prefer to have an option to use a remote and something with a stand alone OS.

Also, I have a smart tv and the chrome cast seems a bit redundant, except for allowing me to cast from the browser on my computer.

Roku with plex works great. Unsupported apps have good streaming options

Been going the Roku/Plex/Torrent route with an HDTV antenna (for networks) for over two years and love it.
