Best desktop for quickbooks...

We we finally bumped up against the 14500 customer/vendor list limitation. Had no idea this was even a limitation. Tried to move over to quickbooks online and was disastrous. That is such a horrible product! We ended up settling on Enterprise. We have 3 users and obviously use their multi user access functionality. In the past it has been slow, but with Enterprise it seems a little peppier I guess. Question is, what type of specs would be suite hosting the file for multiuser access? Also, would it be best to have a dedicated server for it or have a regular desktop host it that has user access? Thanks in advance!

For 3 users you should have someone do it for you so they can support it.
I would think any $1000 desktop could function as a server but that's not really my area.

Get a server. They are cheap and it can do other things like store other files, perform real backups, etc. Someone getting a virus surfing porn on the QB host won't shut you down if it is on the server.

QB seems to be one of those applications that will actually show you benefits as your hardware gets better. I would invest in a RAID configuration (to protect your data) and if the price was right, run RAID over a pair of SSD's. 16GB of RAM would be my minimum.
ETA: Go with a dedicated machine as some of the other replies have added... You really do not want to have to cleanup some virus or malware infection on your production QB system.

Isn't Quickbooks a 32-bit application?
