Wow. Sounds like it was a good decision to pass on that.
The terms of my upgrade are to order new phone and return the old within 30 days or you owe the remainder. It's a billing credit when the old is received.
I'd like the apple care, but for $11 a line the provider has free replacement. I'm sure there's a sort of service fee, but didn't read into it bc I didn't want it for now.

Nope, only option was to choose a store. I grabbed a silver 128 reservation in Atlanta (wanted to go to Knoxville where my parents live, but they were sold out in Knoxville by 3:10), wanted a black 128, but would of took a 256 or jet black 128/256. Closest black to me was Chicago and I wasn't traveling that far.
I am not sure I will keep that reservation or not, we can try and make another reservation again on the 16th at 8AM to see if we can get the phone we want or go stand in a line at an apple store to see we can get one at walk up. I am going to go to Atlanta and probably get in the line early and then try to get one through the 8AM reservation system as well. This is a nightmare, was so much easier just to have it shipped to your house. I would of gotten one release day, date hadn't pushed back when I saw it online, but no I have to go to the store....

I'm gonna give Apple a call and see what's up with that... I don't want to drive to the Apple Store for upgrades every year.

Just saw on verizon homepage they are offering a bonus 2gb of data per line when you upgrade.
I chose to carry over my old plan when ordering. I'm gonna call and see if they'll edit my order to upgrade to the new plan with the bonus data.

This makes too much sense.
Wish I wasn't in between carriers when the 6s came out last year. Or if I wasn't so damn impatient. Now I'm screwed waiting with them to get some new black ones in stock.
You should be able to order these frickers online instead of going in the store for the upgrade program.
Also why the frick is the 16th their release date if they don't have nearly enough product available. All these ship dates I'm seeing are for the end of the month. Why not make the "release date" two weeks after the keynote like last year?

The issues this year are with people who are doing the iPhone upgrade plan, basically Apple is fricking over the loyal base. It's completely done off store inventory and the stores never have enough inventory and we have no other option to order the phones with this plan.

I called the customer service number on their website at 8am central. Skipped menus by pressing 0 and got a rep without ever holding.

Looks like getting in touch with a rep to cancel order ain't happening.. I'll just take my lick and drive to Apple Store next year I guess.. What a ridiculous policy though. What if someone lives 3-4 hr from a store?

Found any way to even order it? Getting in line early arse next week doesn't sound like fun and probably still won't get it. Seriously thinking about taking the silver for the year, but I really hate the white faceplate. I have another option, I signed my wife up for it and thinking about selling her 6, giving her the 6s and taking the 7 on her account. Just not renew my account this year. That's if it ships release day, if not I will cancel it.
