If so how do you like it and which camera/app set up are you using.

Our current video monitor is terrible, loses signal constantly, etc. We have 2 tablets we could dedicate to bedside monitoring as well.

TIA

I use Samsung smart cam

But video is pointless, only need the audio

I got some cheap audio only monitors from Walmart and it works great

There was a thread from CAD about this. I use a Foscam IP cam as a baby monitor and love it. It takes a little more configuration than a Dropcam (or whatever they are now), but it's cheaper and more customizable.

Another Foscam user here. Strongly recommend a pan/tilt/zoom camera so you can move the camera to view the middle of the room when the baby is playing, then back to the bed when then baby is sleeping.

we picked up a set for $10 at a baby consignment store.

great complement to the foscam because lets face it, the foscam audio isn't really useful.

We only had audio monitors for the 1st kiddo and then bought a foscam when our second was born 3 years ago...we really liked the foscam, because we could see what the heck was going on with him; whether he was going to sleep or playing in his crib. When he was swaddled it was nice too, because if he started crying you could tell if he just needed to self-soothe (and we would leave him alone) or if he'd busted out of his swaddler, in which case we'd have to go in there.

The Foscam took a bit of time to get set up, but it was worth it to us and was definitely cheaper and more feature-oriented than the video baby monitors out at the time. Plus it was nice to be able to check on your kiddo at work, just remember not to give your co-workers the web address and password if your wife breastfeeds in the same room

I debated this a long time. Foscam was out when I was looking though because of the security issues. I think they have those fixed a bit better now from when I was in the market. Everyone was hacking them back then, the youtubes on that were hilarious.

I ended up just using an old smartphone I had laying around the house that I set up in her room as a video monitor with an app. App allowed me to talk to her and play any mp3s I wanted from that phones library too. So white noise and lullabies were great to have on it.

I also got a really nice audio monitor with movement/temp features. The audio monitor was far more useful, having the video was nice to just have a quick check to see what was going on.

I know one thing, the baby specific video monitors are absolute garbage, don't get those.

This. Pisses me off. My son is almost 8 months. When we registered for stuff my wife was 100% HAD TO BE AN OFFICIAL BABY MONITOR.

So that's what we got. It's so terrible and now she is like "why didn't we get one of those real nice HD cameras"

Just make sure you setup proper security! There are a bunch of creepy websites online where you can go and watch people's houses/babies because the owners failed to setup security.

Seriously? That's weird and disturbing on a lot of different weird and creepy ways.
Why are people so weird?

Which model are you using. I checked them out last night and Amazon users were bashing a couple of models. I trust you guys much more than Amazon though.
