We are building a house and almost ready to move in. It's off the main road a good bit and Cox wants over $1800 to run the cable to the house and bury it. Is Exede or something similar a viable option? They offer a bundle with Directv, which I prefer as a TV service over Cox and AT&T anyway. Internet would mainly be for streaming Netflix and such as well as my wife teaching live lessons for the online school she teaches for.

nope nope nope nope nope nope nope

pony up for proper broadband. netflix will blow your data cap with satellite. I am assuming "live teaching lessons" means video chat - frick that shite with satellite.

long and short of it - satellite internet should always be your last option.

I have only heard nightmares about it, be glad you have the option to pay to bury the cable and please do it.

AT&T basically told me i was SOL when I moved. It's been 3 years and I still only have my neighbor's internet because he is generous.

Pay the $1800. It is more than worth it.

All satellite internet is crap and should only be used if it is the only option.
