I had the 3 and the 4 but the hardware always lacked imo. Seeing that Samsung will be providing some of the parts for the phone gives me hope that the hardware may finally catch up with the software. It is the only thing stopping google from creating the perfect phone imo

the nexus line has was always top notch, as the first pixel or 2. the 4 and 5s were very lack luster and looked to be geared for the middle of the road. Im glad they are going to a best in class flagship phone. I will be getting it.

The pro design on the front looks very much like the note 20. If the new tensor chip is good we may have a winner. Google can't be beat as far as user AI. Watching the Samsung event right now that fold 3 is very tempting also but so damn expensive. Samsung supposedly is offering up to 850 bucks for a note 20 ultra trade in.

I planned on it, but I'm skeptical only because of Google's recent issues with their camera. They've been killing off everyone's camera app from earlier Pixels to I believe the 4... basically forcing us to upgrade

If you're ever bored, look at camera reviews in the play store and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah they are supposed to be upgrading the lens too, I think same one Samsung uses also currently. They relied on software before be nice to see what they could do with better hardware

idk what camera issues you speak of but i stops with the 3sl and didnt get any 4 or 5 because of the lacking hardward. But the 2 and 3s cameras are great.

I loved my 2 and 3, but when my 3 died, I went to Samsung because I didn't like the 5. I'd like to get back on the Pixel train, but I'll have to wait until my Samsung dies.

Waiting to see if this will be an upgrade from my One+ 7T. Whatever pixel I had last sucked. Maybe pixel 3.

The problems I had were speakerphone issues on both my 3 and 4. If this isn't what we expect I'll just hold out for the S22 Ultra.

S22 Ultra.
is that 5 cameras?

IMO vanilla android is better than having slightly better hardware on a samsung phone the past few years. the 3XL was a great phone and has done me well for years. Which is why im excited google stepped their game up with the pixel 6s. Still couldnt fathom getting a samsung phone and have to live with what ever shite they put on top of android. Plus having to wait MONTHS to get an update

I'm not a total fanboy of either device, I've had both and like both there are good things and bad things about both of them. I'm actually using a S21 Ultra right now and it is pretty damn good and the camera is very good and screen is the best and after using 120hz I'd never go back to anything less. Pixel with good hardware may be about perfect but that's where they have been lacking. Samsung has better native apps imo and easier to use, pixel has the best overall software user AI and TTS and RCS are all great features. The tensor chip really has me curious on how much better the machine learning aspect could be.

I'm probably going to spring for the Pixel 6. I'm on a Galaxy S10e right now, so it's going to be a massive difference in phone size, which i'm not a huge fan of big phones, but it's hard to fine smaller phones these days that aren't garbage.

Anyway, Google in control of the hardware as well as the software? Yeah, it should be quite a phone.

Pixel Event was today. Pixel 6 $599 and Pixel 6 Pro $899. Pretty competitive pricing it seems. I plan on getting the pro, but want to wait to see first reactions from initial adopters first.

I'm telling myself no, my Pixel 3 is perfectly fine, just use it for another year and get a Pixel 7 next year... but boy do I want one. The regular, not the Pro, since it's smaller and cheaper. I guess I haven't made up my mind yet one way or the other.
