i just can't bring myself to pay for the Apple watch, and i honestly don't need something that smart.

i'm currently on a Garmin Vivosmart, which i've liked a lot. Good step counter and workout monitor, and i get to read emails/texts, but it's pretty bland and doesn't look professional for an everyday watch.

the band is more appealing to me because of the screen, but it's been panned pretty hard for looks and comfort, whereas the Band 2 looks a lot sharper.

i've kinda been keeping my eye on band prices and seen them drop a bit, but if reviews show that the Band 2 holds up better, i'm leaning that way.

I've seen Best Buy offering the original Band for $100, twice now. Still haven't pulled the trigger since I'm waiting to see what the Band 2 will offer and how much it will be, but $100 for the original Band is still a great deal.

I have the original band and still like it. Still wear it everyday and use many of the functions on it.

If you get it, pay the extra $20 for their protection plan. Part of my band starting coming apart at the clasp like 9 months after I bought. Still worked but would make it act funky at times. Brought it into Microsoft store and they gave me a brand new one with no hassle.

I'll be curious to see what the second band has to offer over the first one, but since I basically just got a brand new one a few months ago...I'll hang on to it for as long as I can.
