Any reason to save an old laptop (+/- 15 years old) that's no longer being used

I have this Gateway laptop that my grandparents bought me when I started college about 15 years ago. I'm on my 2nd or 3rd laptop since and this bulky arse thing has just been sitting around for years collecting dust. The battery doesn't hold a charge so it has to constantly be plugged in and the cord has to be held at a certain angle while charging for it to even get some juice

I've been holding onto it thinking that I may be able to use it again, but I think it's time to move on. What can I do with it? Should I just go ahead and just trash it or could someone else possibly get some use out of it?

I thought about keeping it for something like that. I probably would if I wasn't having the charging issues.

I've copied all relevant documents over to another hard drive. Should I get it wiped before tossing it?

Take the hard drive out and drill holes into it.
