Any Backup/Restore experts?

Long story short, lost everything on Tuesday. When restoring from Monday night's backup, most file types are fine, however, all xlsx and docx files are saying they are corrupt when openening. Old xls and doc files open fine. Using the backup from last Wednesday, all files open fine. Any idea how we can fix the corrupted files from the newest backup?

Hi. What program are you using to backup your data? Is this a server, personal PC? Where are you backing it up to?

What do you mean by lost? Virus? Maybe you are trying to restore already infected files and you need to go back further?

Ransomware encrypted all of the files on the data server. Prior days backup restored fine.
