I am showing only 1 gb available of the 16 in the phone. Of course SD card is mostly empty but phone is so full I can't update. This is after clearing cache. I went through manually and removed pictures and video but I still have 11.5 gb of stuff. You know how you can view a file's details and see what files are which size? Is there something similar for the phone?

trying to clear up some more room. I know at least 8gb are the OS, but I'm having trouble finding everything else.

Get sd maid from play store to optimize your phones apps and clean up junk files. Highly recommended. Run it on a schedule and forget it.

If you go to Settings->Storage, it should tell you how much space is taken by apps, pics, videos, downloads, etc. Then if you click each category it should break it down further.

I use an app called "diskusage". It'll show you graphically how much space everything is taking.
