I am assuming if I have the latest smart TV and amazon prime, there is no benefit to purchasing amazon fire.

You know what they say about assuming things.

Search for sideload TVMC on firestick and see why it is so popular. It is also an easy way to get access to all your prime content, and runs netflix better than anything else I have used.

Are you talking about the FireTV set top box or the Firetv stick?

Either way, both will likely outperform a new smart tv for streaming, but it's what you need that's important.

If you have a smart tv and Amazon Prime, the first streaming device you should be considering is a Fire TV device.

If your Smart TV works like every other Smart TV I have ever used, the interface on a FireTV, FireTV Stick, Roku, or AppleTV will blow it out of the water in speed and ease of use, as well as in number of available "channels."
