Just look at your network traffic. If it were always recording, you would see network traffic coming from the echo all day. Which doesn't happen.

Or, it could store certain things and only transmit it when it hears the keyword. If it's encrypted (and it should be), then you can't know what it's sending.


Not saying Amazon does that, just saying it's possible.

On a positive note, depending on how you look at it, Amazon said "no". They aren't going to release the personal details of that person who was murdered.

I see both sides of this argument. For those of us who aren't impacted by this person being murdered, we cry tinfoil hat time. However, imagine if we did know the victim and it MIGHT help the police and FBI find the killer.

It's a slippery slope this whole connected world we live in nowadays.

Yeah, it could, but It doesn't have much of a hard drive to store audio

It has 4 gigs of memory. It can probably store weeks of audio.
