Advice on how to watch US programming in Brazil

I'm not the most tech savvy person, and I'm looking for an easy way to watch American TV programming in Brazil. I'll be there for several months (or longer) with my family, and I'd like to be able to watch sports and a few programs, as well as kids type shows for my daughter. I'm looking to watch on TV, not just computer, pad, tablet. I'm not familiar with VPN or DNS other than the little bit of research I've done recently, but apparently, I'll need one or the other to access US content. Is one better than the other for streaming? I currently have an Amazon fire stick that I use to watch some LSU sports. Will that be a good device for streaming abroad? Are their better devices - Roku, apple tv, chromecast? Tentatively, I'm planning to keep my directv account active so I can stream my content from there. Good idea, bad idea? I'm looking for something that will be fairly easy to set up, since I'm not sure how much tech support I'll be able to get over there. I'm not looking to break the bank, but I understand there will be some cost involved. Any advice would be appreciated.

Vpn is all you need. Bring your firestick and go cray cray.

USTV Now
Get a Fire Stick with KODI and you'll be set.

USTV Now looks good, already have the fire stick. What does KODI do?
I'm assuming I would still need vpn or dsn to access all espn programming - 2, U, and SECN.

Allows you to download certain apps (Velocity, Pheonix, Sportsdevil) that can allow you to watch shows. Some shows you won't be able to watch Live, but they will be up the day after at the latest. Sportsdevil allows you to watch most major sports live.

Screw US programming. Watch the Brazilian TV women.
